The Dior resort 2014 collection brought a fab array of modern ensembles into the spotlight inspired by Monte Carlo. If for the most part, the resort 2014 collections were fairly small, the label approached the new line with the same seriousness as the main seasonal lines. The celebrity packed front row proved that the launch was indeed an important event. Marion Cotillard, Jessica Biel, Andrea Casiraghi, Liv Tyler, Ruth Wilson and Ana Girardot were just some of the celebrities that watched the event with a great enthusiasm. Elegance and refinement were the buzzwords at the show and a cheerful vibe was instantly sensed.
Though the Dior resort 2014 collection was originally meant to reflect typical cruise cliches, Raf Simmons changed his mind and decided to work with fabrics he wasn't used to and approach the new line from modern, even futuristic point of view. While it would definitely be interesting to see how the original idea would have turned out, the new options sure proved incredibly appealing. The label kept focusing on abstract vibes, a good sign that this year's trendy pieces will have plenty of mileage.
