Swimsuits For All and curvy blogger Gabi Fresh have teamed up to make a fashionable line for plus-sized girls featuring 'fatkinis'. The line, which was released this month, caused lot of excitement since it was first announced and the result was a completely predictable one: out-of-this-world sales. In a size 0 centric industry, the need for women with all kinds of body shapes and different sizes to be adequately represented was stressed over and over, but the responses and actions taken in the direction were timid at best, sometimes even being the source of controversy.
Granted, understanding the needs of curvy girls after decades of sending ultra slim models on the catwalk and building campaign based on the same ideas isn't easy without a clear understanding of the specific needs of plus sized ladies and this is exactly why teaming up with plus sized fashionista Gabi Gregg of GabiFresh proved such a great idea.

The blogger probably spoke on the behalf of many women when she told ABC News “I really wanted to design bikinis that were stylish, young and fresh. I think a lot of the swimwear on the market right now for plus sizes is just kind of frumpy and matronly and a lot of it is designed to cover us up.”
